Rabbit Stew

$100.00

At its core, this print reflects the ways everyday objects can become lasting records of family history. Drawn from my grandmother's handwritten rabbit stew recipe, the piece transforms a familiar page into a visual archive of memory, tradition, and lived experience.

Created as a laser-engraved woodcut, the work considers how knowledge is carried across generations through both making and sharing. It also acknowledges the experiences of my ancestors who immigrated to the United States, bringing with them recipes, skills, and traditions that helped preserve a sense of home while adapting to a new place.

By translating this recipe into print, I explore how acts of repetition—whether cooking a family meal or pulling an edition of prints—can preserve stories that might otherwise be lost, allowing them to continue through future generations.

This print is made by first taking a digital drawing composed of hand drawn and found elements, and then laser engraving them into wood which then is turned into a hand printed relief print. Check out my instagram to see some of the process!
